The Moffett Place is rich in its history.  Homesteaded by Anthony and Sarah Howard in the 1800s this property located 5 miles east of Ravenna Nebraska has remained a constant home to the family for several generations.  To most of us now, this is "Mimi's Place" a place where children remember playing on the tire swing, where we knew there would be hugs of welcome and plenty of good-old-fashioned-home-cooked food. (mostly sweet or fried)  This is a place where memories were made, where countless family dogs frolicked, children explored, and family felt loved and united, where things remained unchanged and tradition was valued.

Mimi, also known as Leota Moffett loved her home and her family and remained here well into her mid 90's.  Her husband Dean Moffett passed away in 1984 but during most of his life, the place was a productive farm bustling with daily farm activities.  There was irrigation pipe to be checked, cattle to be tended, tractors to be oiled, hay to be baled, crops to be kept and countless other duties.  Together Mimi and Pop (Leota and Dean) created, maintained and cared for their place until they passed.  They created more than just a well maintained property, they created and maintained a place called home.

Please enjoy viewing some of the family's historical photographs below. Most of these were taken on the property with a couple of exceptions. We hope that you sense the rich history that was shared throughout the years at The Moffett Place as well as all of the love.
